Chapter-recommended hotels/motels in downtown San Francisco --- please make your own arrangements for the following: |
|||
| The Zoo is 4 miles (6 km) from downtown San Francisco, a 20 minute drive depending on traffic. For those wishing to stay near Fisherman's Wharf, the cable cars, and other popular San Francisco attractions, please make your own arrangements for lodging and transportation to the Zoo. There is plenty of parking at the Zoo, but for those wishing to reduce their carbon footprint by taking public transportation, the Zoo entrance is temptingly close to the terminus of the "L" streetcar line. Allow 40 minutes for the trip by streetcar. | Driving directions: Head west to the ocean on Sloat, make a U-turn at the west end of Sloat, then an immediate right into Zoo parking lot. | OTHER HOUSING OPTIONS: |
